APPLE CAKE w/ CARAMEL SAUCE






APPLE CAKE w/ CARAMEL SAUCE

 

1/2 c. butter or margarine     1 tsp. salt

2 c. sugar                     2 tsp. nutmeg

2 eggs                    2 tsp. cinnamon

2 c. flour                     2 tsp. soda

4 c. raw chopped apples,          1 c. walnuts

    (Granny Smith best)

 

1.  Cream sugar and butter; add eggs.

2.  Sift dry ingredients; add to mixture (this will be very thick)

3.  Add apples and nuts and mix well.

4.  Bake at 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes in greased 9 x 13 pan.

 

SAUCE

 

1 c. sugar

1/2 c. butter or margarine

1 c. canned milk

1 tsp. vanilla

 

Combine and cook slowly to right consistency.  The longer you cook it, the thicker.
